Our story

Since 1994, Shoalhaven Kids In Need has been fundraising for families of children with acute and chronic medical conditions in the Shoalhaven. Funds raised provide financial support for accommodation costs, travel and emergency expenses for families who need to travel to Sydney hospitals.

Shoalhaven Kids In Need also raises money to assist with equipment purchases or respite care for Shoalhaven families with disabled children.

What families are saying

  • “I was finding it very difficult to leave the house, as my 4.5 year old son who has Down syndrome still runs away from me and onto the road. Now with our new double stroller we can walk around the block, go to the park, go to the shops, and attend appointments with ease. Your gift has certainly made our lives a little easier and has saved my sanity! Words can't express how grateful we are for your kind and generous gift.” - Gina, Pete, Tylor, Alexander and Jack McVicar

  • “We can not express how thankful & grateful we are for all of Bowen's amazing therapy equipment! We are just blown away by your generosity AND kind hearts.

Bowen loves his pod/hammock swing but especially his crash mat (now he can stop destroying my lounge!). The weighted blanket is helping us at bed time and when he is struggling to calm down and relax. Thank you so much for helping our family and putting the biggest smile on our boy's face. I hope one day we will be able to give back and help a family in need just like you have done for us.” - Adam, Emma, Bowen & Eleonore Slattery

  • Following a Request for Assistance received from Dynamic OT Solutions, twelve year old Lincoln was happy to receive his new Macbook Air donated by Shoalhaven Kids in Need. This computer will greatly assist Lincoln with his skills development.
